After it was claimed in the Wall Street Journal that an affair between Elon Musk and Sergey Brin’s wife was the reason the Google co-founder sold his stakes in Musk’s enterprises, Elon Musk denied having an affair with Brin’s wife.
According to the Wall Street Journal, which cited unnamed persons acquainted with the situation as sources, Tesla Inc. co-founder Elon Musk is claimed to have had an affair with Brin’s wife Nicole Shanahan in Miami at the beginning of December. Because of this, Musk, 51, and Brin, who had been a buddy for a long time and had helped sustain the electric automaker through the financial crisis of 2008, are no longer buddies. In January, Brin, who is 48 years old, filed for divorce from Shanahan.
Musk said that the report published in the Journal was not accurate in a message that he made on Twitter, where he has more than 100 million followers. Musk said that he had seen Brin’s wife twice in the last three years, and both times he was in the company of other people. Musk also said that he has a friendly relationship with Brin.
This is complete nonsensical. Sergey and I have been friends for a while, and we went to a party together only the other night.
In the last three years, I have only seen Nicole twice, and both times there were a large number of other people there. There’s no room for romance.
According to the Journal, after finding that Musk had a short affair with Brin’s wife, Brin asked his advisors to liquidate his personal stakes in Musk’s firms in recent months. This came after Brin learned that Musk had been unfaithful to his wife.
According to the publication, the total value of Brin’s personal stakes in Musk’s businesses is unknown, and it is also not apparent if any of those assets have been sold.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Elon Musk has the largest personal wealth in the world with a value of 242 billion dollars. With a net worth of $94.6 billion, Brin is the eighth-wealthiest person in the world.
The affair is the most recent in a series of disclosures that have surfaced about Musk’s personal life. Earlier this year, it was reported that he became a father to twins who were born to a top executive at the artificial intelligence business that he co-founded, Neuralink.
According to Insider, one of his other firms, SpaceX, made a settlement payment of $250,000 to an employee in 2016 to resolve an allegation that she had been the victim of sexual harassment at the hands of Musk. Musk said that the allegations were “completely false” and that they were made with the intention of preventing him from acquiring Twitter Inc., a deal that he is now attempting to back out of.
Even though there is a prenuptial agreement in place, Brin and Shanahan are reportedly in the process of negotiating a settlement together. According to the Journal, Shanahan is demanding more than one billion dollars.
