Spanish goalkeeper Joel Robles joins English club Leeds United on a free transfer

The goalkeeper for the Spanish national team, Joel Robles, has joined Leeds United on a free transfer, the Premier League club announced on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old player, who previously played for Real Betis in Spain but departed at the end of the 2021-2022 season, has agreed to terms with the club that will keep him there for a single season.

Robles said that he believes this to be a fantastic opportunity for him to continue his development since “there are very excellent supporters here and a very strong team as well.”

Robles is the eighth player to join Leeds during this transfer window. He will fight for the goalkeeping responsibilities in Jesse Marsch’s team alongside Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson. Robles is the eighth player to join Leeds.
