According to Massick, maintaining healthy and strong hair requires a well-rounded diet that is rich in foods like eggs, spinach, beef, chickpeas, pumpkin seeds, and black beans. Eating these foods will help keep your diet balanced. According to Healthline, the majority of what constitutes hair follicles is protein. Protein also includes iron, which assists the body in bringing oxygen to the cells that are linked with hair development.

When the body doesn’t get enough protein, the protein that is consumed is allocated towards essential body functions, which does not include hair growth. According to Missack, it has been demonstrated to help prevent hair loss and, in some circumstances, recover hair that has been lost. Rogaine contains minoxidil. According to Healthline, while it is not entirely known how minoxidil works, it is considered to expand hair follicles and enhance the body’s hair growth phase.

Finasteride is a medicine that is often recommended to address male pattern hair loss in addition to an enlarged prostate. She said that while finasteride may help prevent hair loss, there is a risk of adverse effects such as erectile dysfunction and decreased semen production since it lowers levels of DHT.
