Imminent War Looms Over Russia: President Zelenskyy Raises Concerns

After the destruction of three Ukrainian drones above the city of Moscow on Sunday, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, issued a threat that “war” was on its way to Russia.

During a visit to the western city of Ivano-Frankivsk, Zelensky said that the war would eventually come to the land of Russia — to its symbolic centres and military bases — and that this is an unavoidable, natural, and completely fair process. Zelensky was speaking about the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

He noted that Ukraine is gaining stronger, but cautioned that the nation should become ready for a fresh assault on energy infrastructure in the winter. Ukraine is getting stronger”

However, we must be aware that, just like they did last year, Russian terrorists are still capable of attacking our energy sector and crucial infrastructure this winter, Zelensky said. He said that preparations for “all possible scenarios” were reviewed at Ivano-Frankivsk.

According to the Russian defence ministry, Zelensky made these comments after three Ukrainian drones were shot down above Moscow early on Sunday morning. The incident caused damage to two office buildings and caused an international airport to close for a short time.

Separately, Moscow said on Sunday that its troops had prevented an assault by the Ukraine using 25 drones overnight on territory in Crimea that has been annexated by Russia.

The strikes that were reported on Sunday were the latest in a series of recent drone assaults that Moscow has blamed on Kyiv. These attacks included ones on the Kremlin and Russian cities that are close the border with Ukraine.
