No bullets were fired in Times Square, according to police, but pandemonium erupted when a planter fell.

On Sunday evening, a loud bang drove visitors fleeing from Times Square; some feared gunshots, but police said a disagreement had resulted in a planter being knocked over and a police barrier being breached.

Around 5:40 p.m., the New York Police Department got a 911 call reporting a potential gunshot between West 47th Street and Broadway. One individual was subsequently taken into custody on marijuana-related suspicions.

A rush of about 300 individuals came in to James Chesney’s direction, so he dashed to get out of the path as quickly as he could.

It seems that a planter may have collapsed, creating fear among a large number of people, who began to flee.

A guy was injured during the event, although it is unclear whether or not the injury was linked to the chaotic situation.
